<---SAY! THESE BOYS ARE GOOD!
Now
that's
just
plain
wrong
.
Eddie Pinder. Now here's an interesting
guy. Just kind of came in,
and went
back out of the Whiteman orchestra.
He doesn't really turn up in too many
other bands either. However he ended
up being a frequent visitor at the 44th
St. Hotel, visiting with Bix during the
years 1930 and 1931. Quite a few
musicians remembered this.
Mable, This is it. We can't
miss! Why, when Mr.
Whiteman
catches our act,  he'll dump
those Rhythm Boys so fast,  I'll
bet they'll end up working for
Gus  Arnheim! Ha! Are you

ready?
Let'sgo..one..two.."Shaking like
a leaf on a tree..."
This is Joe Cook. Joe was part of the 1928
Whiteman tour. Did some comedy in the
show and had great reviews for his cornet
playing! A little known bit of trivia for you.
A 1928 photo.
Min Leibrook. Now there was a guy who
could have told you some things about
Bix!
He was with Bix on his first recording.
He was also on Bix's last (known)

recording.
He's Just pissed off because his middle name is
Roach.
The Whiteman brass section posing for Holton. And
there's Eddie Pinder on the left. It seems that
Bix
looks to be the tallest guy in the section. Go
figure.
This is the Whiteman Sax section for the Holton
Ad.
Notice that Tram shaved off the moustache. I
h
ad Tram's Holton instument trunk from 1928. It's
now at the Bix Museum in Davenport.
 It has the
remains of some great looking stickers on it!
1929 Broadcast.
B-B-B-Bing was starting to take off.
Might as well do it right and include the
Trombone section of the Holton Ad. From the
left it's Jack Fulton, Bill Rank, Wilbur Hall &
Boyce Cullen. Cullen is another interesting guy.
Not too much is known about him, but he was a
close friend of Bix. Also one of his favorite
drinking buddies! And he's another guy who
visited Bix quite often during the years 1930 &
1931.
Mr. Potato-Head is in the center. Why did
some people call the Potato Head label, vulgar? I
like 'em! I like the Victor sound much more than
Columbia's, but it's a nice label. So there.
Is it just me,or does Laemmle look like a tiny David
Letterman?

I promise that I'll never buy any
other kind of CD other than those
made by KAZOO LIPS! Isn't that
right Buckwheat? "Dat's right,
Alpalpha!"
"You no singing, bow-tie wearing, Darla chasing
honky freak! I told Butch that you said he had the hots for Spanky."
